Window Tint Aftercare: 6 Essential Tips to Maintain Your Tint Like a Pro

Follow these 7 professional window tint aftercare tips to prevent bubbles, peeling and fading. Keep your tint flawless for years!

  1. Wait Before Rolling Down Windows (3+ Days)

    • Why? Fresh Tint needs time to cure. Rolling windows down too soon can cause peeling.

    • Pro Tip: Wait at least 5-7 days before lowering windows.

  2. Clean Gently (First 30 Days)

    • Avoid ammonia-based cleaners (e.g., Windex) as they degrade tint film.

    • Use: Mild soap + water or tint-safe cleaner with a microfiber cloth (no paper towels!)

  3. Park Smart to Avoid Heat Damage

    • Park in shade or use a sunshade when possible. Excessive heat can cause bubbling during curing.

  4. How to Wash Tinted Windows

    • Do: Spray cleaner on cloth (not directly on tint) and wipe gently.

    • Don't: Use abrasive tools (scrubbers, razors) or harsh chemicals.

  5. Be Patient with Curing Time

    • Tiny haziness/water pockets are normal! Full curing takes 2-4 weeks depending on weather.

  6. Avoid Stickers or Adhesives

    • Don't attach parking permits or decals to tinted windows as they can leave permanent marks when removed.
